Significant Concepts: Basic video programming, and the appeal of virtual environments. Also, the positives and negatives of technology.)

Unit Question: What is the appeal of a virtual environment and what are the negative and positive consequences?


REQUIREMENTS:

  1. Take the Power Game Test on Skyward.

  2. Create a new page on your wiki. Name it "Power Game".

  3. Copy and Paste this page onto your wikispace.

  4. Create your own video game using Power Game.

  5. You must work on this video game for 7 days. You should add new elements to your game every day!

  6. Make at least 5 levels on your video game. Your width for each level should be at least 2600.

  7. Take one picture of each of your levels. You should have at least 5 pictures.

  8. Name all of your pictures, "Power Game 1", Power Game 2", Power Game 3", and "Power Game 4".

  9. Upload all of your pictures onto your wikispace.

  • Can teach us new things. Can teach us to do helpful things. Can teach us to do the right thing.
  • List three negatives about virtual environments:
  • Can teach us to do the WRONG things. They can swear in the games. Can play a game that kills other people.
  • What are the requirements of this assignment?
  • To make a game on powergame. The width must be 2600. Must have 5 levels.
  • Why and when does the toolbar change in PowerGame?
  • When you select any object.
  • List three items in the toolbar:
  • Power ups
  • Evil Snowman
  • Ammunition

PLAN
Follow the plan I outlined below:
Day 1: Skyward Test, Design Folder on your wikispace, answer the Investigate and Plan sections.
Day 2: Finish Skyward Test, Investigate, and Plan sections. Start Power Game.
Day 3: Complete first level. Don't forget that the width for each level needs to be at least 2600.
Day 4: Complete second level.
Day 5: Complete third level.
Day 6: Complete fourth level.
Day 7: Complete 5th level and the entire Design Folder, including uploading pictures on your wikispace.


CREATE
  • Be nice to my software and computer.

EVALUATE

My game has more than five levels, it has six levels.
Are all of your levels at least 2600 in width? If not, why?
Yes it has 2600 in width it gives it many width so more obstacles.
5. How could you improve your game?
I would start with the glitches in the games there are no enemies in the game for some levels.
6. Share your game with at least one friend. What did he/she like about your game?
Haven't had someone test the game.
7. Were you responsible in using the software and computer?
Yes I was responsible using the software on the computer.
8. What problems did you have using power game?
It was glitching there was no one there.
9. What did you like the least about power game?
The work to make it.
10.What did you like the best about power game?
When I played it, the game was fun.
11.What is the appeal of a virtual environment and what are the negative and positive consequences of virtual environments? (Write at least a paragraph!)
The consequences of virtual environments, are like killing games they mostly have swearing in the game. That can make kids swear and do bad things. The positive of games is that some games can keep you fit like the wii. Some few games can teach you new things.
12.What grade do you deserve on this project? (1 - 6)
I say, I deserve five for the grade.
